Life Skills Training for Youth at Don Bosco (Tangla)

First batch of 30 students completed their life skills training programme at Bara Singrimari village in Don Bosco (Tangla, Assam) on July 18, 2010. The 15 days programme began from 5th July 2010, was organized by the Youth Director of the parish Fr. Thadeus Kujur sdb, with his trained team of staff in collaboration with the regional DBTECH-PRT.

The programme was designed to equip the youths with skills necessary for day-to-day and practical living with various topics on personal competencies, problem solving and conflict management, how to develop effective work habits, entrepreneurship, service learning and healthy lifestyles. The programme also aimed at providing the youth with functional skills on making bamboo based handicraft items, cutting & tailoring, knitting, artificial flower making etc. Three experts in the area of handicraft, tailoring and knitting were involved for the functional skills training.
