Induction Training of MoRD Project in Tamil Nadu

Induction Training for MoRD Project at Tamil Nadu State level was conducted at Deepagam Hall, The Citadel, Chennai from 4th July to 7th July 2010. 25 Trainers participated in this Training of the Trainer (ToT) Program from the state of Tamilnadu (Province of Chennai and Trichy).
 
The training was conducted by Mr. Stanley from DB Tech, Delhi office. The training started with a brief overview on the history and background of the organization – DB Tech - its mission, vision and interventions. In addition, the project in focus, the programme involved, the centres, the operations involved were given in detail to the trainers. During the course of the programme, many things such as the statistics of the project, time period, target, project cycles, the operations of the BASE program model, the sponsors, the partners, the monitoring agencies, the curriculum developers, a clear frame of the structure of the program including the outline of the pre- implementation, implementation and post implementation stages were discussed at length.

The debriefing following the activities concentrated on the teaching outlook required to be adopted in the 3 months training of students. The criteria for admission of candidates, handling them in a specialized manner, the need to inculcate life skills and soft skills in their daily activities, the HR policies and the importance of the role of facilitating rather than teaching, boosting up students’ attitudes were highlighted through videos and presentations. The various activities based sessions like role plays, games and group discussions brought out the best in the participants. All queries raised by the trainers were clarified at the end and the whole programme wound up with a short Valedictory function on 7th July.
