MoRD Project planning in Bangalore Province

Image 1 MoRD Project planning session was held for the Salesians of Bangalore Province on 12th April 2010. There were twenty two participants. It started with a short prayer followed by the welcome note in which the importance of MoRD project, that was already launched and implemented at North Central region for transforming the lives of the young people, was highlighted.

The director of DB Tech, Skilling India Fr. A.M. Joseph, sdb, began the session with a brief introduction on the MoRD Project followed by a power point presentation on the various components of it, vis-à-vis, the Project background, Partners, Objective of the MoRD project, Target group, Methodology, Roles and Responsibilities of Partners, Program Model, Project Staff Recruitment and TOT, Project Infrastructure, Trainees Profile etc. Towards the end of presentation, certain queries of the participants were addressed clarifying their doubts with regard to the selection of beneficiaries, staff, administration and implementation process of project etc.

Later, the group was divided region wise and asked to discuss the possible centres in each region and the trades that can be taken up. Some of the trades were Tailoring, Hospitality, Computers, Welding, CNC, Electrical, Driving, Construction, Tally, DTP, Automobile & Secretarial practice.

The meeting ended with a firm resolute to carry forward the MoRD project and to educate and employ the rural youth.
