Training of the Trainers on Life skills

Image 1Training of the Trainers (TOT) for Life skills was conducted at Don Bosco Provincial House, Okhla for all the DB Tech trainers involved with MoRD Project from 22nd to 26th March 2010. This was organized by the national team of DB Tech and trainers from Edulever facilitated the training. 17 participants from different states like Mumbai, Kolkata, Nagaland, Mizoram, Goa, Jharkhand, Assam and Delhi were present for the same.

This training was carried out with the view of creating master trainers for different provinces who would be further training the trainers involved in the MoRD Project.
The trainers included Chetan Kapoor, Amrita and Prerit who educated the team on the two main components of Life skills namely, Workplace English and Work-Readiness Curriculum. The highlighting feature of their training was the great emphasis on becoming a good facilitator rather than a teacher or a trainer.

They also highlighted that the core competencies which the organizations and companies nowadays are looking for in their employees are that of good communication skills and basic mannerisms and etiquettes needed to successfully work in an organization. For this they developed a curriculum on life skills which includes the basics of English, Work Readiness and IT. Thus, they educated the team on how to make the learners acquire a basic level of spoken & written skills as well as how to bring about an attitudinal change in their learners’ behavior.

After the training, all the participants were quite confident, enthusiastic and highly motivated to take up their respective responsibilities of training the other trainers.
