Orientation on MoRD Project for Salesians of Chennai Province
An orientation programme on MoRD Project was organized for the Salesians of Chennai Province on 7th January 2010. It started with a short prayer followed by the welcome note in which the importance of MoRD project, that was going to be implemented at national level for transforming the lives of the young people, was highlighted.
Rev. Fr. A.M. Joseph, sdb, the director of DB Tech Skilling India, began the session with a brief introduction on the MORD Project followed by a power point presentation on the various components of it, vis-à-vis, the Project background, Youth scenario in India and at global level, Government funds and Departments involved in Skill Development, Skill focus Industries, Roles and Responsibilities of Partners, Program Model, Training Content Design, Work skills and Soft skills, Project Staff Recruitment and TOT, Project Infrastructure, Trainees Profile etc. Towards the end of presentation, certain queries of the participants were addressed clarifying their doubts with regard to the selection of beneficiaries, staff, administration and implementation process of project etc.
Rev. Fr. Stanislaus sdb, the provincial of Chennai province, suggested that a similar orientation has to be conducted for other Salesians of the province by the DB Tech. All the Technical Heads were invited to plan out a project proposal on trade up gradation at Chennai Province level for the year 2011 – 2013 which in turn would be submitted to DB Tech office at national level. They were asked to submit the project proposal for 2 or 3 trades to DB Tech Chennai office on or before 25th Jan. 2010.
