Successful completion of a short team course on mobile repair
4th November to 18th Dec 2009: In collaboration with Government Ministry of Micro, Small, Medium Enterprise Development Institute (MSME) Don Bosco Tech Panjim organized one and a half month entrepreneurship development programme on mobile repair at Don Bosco Panjim.
The program was inaugurated on the 4th November 2009 by the Assistant Director of the MSME Mr. Shvianand F. Bachagundi. There were twenty participants for the training programme.The program was divided into three sections of basic electronics, mobile servicing theory, practice and entrepreneurship development.
The students were taught the basics of electronics theory linked to mobile phones and mobile servicing techniques of hardware and software on the latest models of the mobile phones. The students worked individually on instruments and they showed great interest in learning the skills. Under the guidance of Mr. Narayan, the trainer most of the students mastered the skill with ease. One of the important aspects of the training was entrepreneurship development in which the students were taught skills on customer relationship, sales and marketing, accountancy etc… The training programme enabled the students to know various schemes available under PMEGP, CMRY and Economic Development Corporation for the entrepreneurship initiatives.
“I had been looking out for various opportunities to start a business of my own, however I had no idea on how to start a business and how to get help from various schemes, but this training has equipped me with a skill and knowledge to start a small business of my own, and I am grateful for that” this words of Mr. Edwin echoed the feelings of the participants during the valedictory function on the 18 December 2009 at Don Bosco Panjim. Mr. Shivanand Bachagundi, Asstt. Director, MSME-DI, Margao, Shri. KRK Prasad Dy. Director MSME and Mr. and the Director of the Konkan Development Society Fr. Jose Sequeira, were present during the concluding session to award certificates to the students.
