Leadership Training Programme in Monsada

A re-kindling of the village youth leaders towards social empowerment was realized to be the growing need of the hour and as a step towards that, the Resource Team of Don Bosco Tech conducted a social awareness program in Monsada on 20th Nov 2009 for the youth leaders of nearby villages. There were 26 youth leaders who took part in this program. It was a forum wherein the participants became aware of the emerging social situations in the country and how they can be better equipped to take up greater responsibilities in the society. The training was oriented towards the need to take up leadership in their own areas in order to organize them for a better living.

This program was made very lively by using experiences of great people, video clippings, games, and role plays. The main topic dealt was taking up responsibilities in the village set up through adequate leadership skills by getting to know who a leader is, qualities of a good leader, leadership dynamics, the traits of a successful leader and how someone can developed their leadership qualities. They were also encouraged to take up social issues in their own particular locality. This training enlightened them to the wide range of possibilities in the area of social concern. All the participants were eager to learn and their active participation added more vigor to the training programme.
