MoRD Project Orientation Programme

Guwahati: 23rd November 2009: The MoRD project Orientation was held on 23rd November 2009 at Bosco Reach Out, Guwahati. Eleven members were present in the meeting that included heads of different Don Bosco technical institutes of the province, the province Economer, the Development Office In-charge and province resource team members. The meeting was convened by the Province Economer to discuss various components of the just approved project for the Northeast region called “Bosco Academy for Skills and Employment”- a project under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.

Fr. A.M. Jose, the National Coordinator of DB Tech India, facilitated discussions through slide presentations on MoRD Project components. He briefed upon the perspective of Don Bosco Tech India National Network, its background and rationale, its structure and also results achieved so far. He presented the national youth scenario emphasizing the alarming rate of school drop-out, unemployment situation and also presented a futuristic view of Indian labour force in the country and the world wide.
 
At noon, all members present there discussed various issues and challenges that would be faced while implementing the project. Each institute also identified new relevant courses that can be taken up in this project in addition to what they already have and pondered upon identifying potential satellite centres for replication.
