Past Pupils’ Meeting at BOSCO, Sumanahalli
The Life Skills Training Centre at Sumanahalli organised a Past Pupils gathering on November 1, 2009. Sixteen past pupils gathered together for a day of reunion and inputs.
It was overwhelming to see the young people who were given non-formal training after rehabilitation from the streets, now equipped with a livelihood and come back to BOSCO to revive the sweet memories of their days in BOSCO. A day of fun, frolic and inputs were organized by the team at Sumanahalli and the inputs were given by animators from the Social Service Guild of Kristu Jyoti College, Bangalore.
They were given input sessions on confidence building and planning. Post lunch, the past pupils had a time of sharing their lives and experiences. It was heart rendering to hear their efforts to stand on their feet and move on. Tears and moments of pause indicated the emotional level of the speakers.
There were also lighter moments, when some shared their naughty ways when they were at BOSCO. Many spoke of their love for Don Bosco, Bosco staff and the support they receive through difficult phases of life. Fr. Edward, the Rector motivated the young people to dream and follow their dream while there was also an inspirational song.
May these stars, shine bright where ever they go!!
