Teiborlang Marbaniang

Teiborlang Marbaniang, a 25 yr old youth, was a wireman trainee of DBTS, 2006 batch. He resides at Mawlai Nonglum, Shillong.

Discontinuing his studies in class XI he joined the technical training at DBTS, Shillong. On completion of his course as Wireman, he decided to take sub-contracts. Teiborlang says his skills make him feel confident enough to venture out on his own. He soon reached deals with few of the civil contractors in his area. Civil contractors would give him wiring work for newly constructed buildings and in turn he would give them 5% -10% of the total profit of the contract. This turned out to be an excellent business for him. In no time, he had works more than he could possibly handle. Today he has employed five local unemployed boys as his assistants. His monthly average earnings stands at Rs 7000/ per month.

He is now there to stay and make money. His future plan is to set up a help line in electrical maintenance and repairs. He says, "I have to make proper plans as this kind of work would require a lot of responsibility and prompt services".
