Training/Internship in Premier TATA Motor Dealership in Guwahati
The budding partnership of DBTS Maligaon with Abhishek Motors, a principal dealership of TATA motors in the region just got a required boost as 13 trainees of Motor mechanic from the institute were absorbed as apprentices in the workshop this June 2009.
A batch of 19 trainees were enrolled to undergo a one-year training course in Motor Mechanic in the year 2009, out of which 13 have been sent for apprenticeship. Due to the hectic lobby and networking with the principal dealer, a MOU has been signed for improving the quality of training in the said domain. It was agreed that DBTS Maligaon would offer 5 months of intensive integrated course of motor mechanic including theory, practical and soft skills programmes. The remaining 7 months of training would be spent on specialized workshop training in two key areas of the company- small cars (Abhishek motors) and commercial/passenger vehicles with the sister concern, the Kiron Motors.
Due to this unprecedented collaboration with the company, DBTS Maligaon is able to enroll additional batch of 13 motor mechanic trainees for training.
It all began with the batch of 2007-08, where 9 motor mechanic candidates were taken as apprentices and on successful completion of 7-months workshop experience, 7 candidates were enlisted in the company’s pay roll. Even though 3 were dropped out due to unknown reasons, 6 trainees are doing well in their job. Two of them were also sent to Tata Motors’ Zonal Office at Kolkata for up gradation of their skills. They are now earning a salary of Rs. 2000 per month plus other allowances.
As of today, these young boys are doing exceptionally well; it is a matter of great hope and joy that these boys will be absorbed in the company payroll and they will be earning their livelihoods to support themselves and their families. The company offers scope for growth for those doing well at par with company’s expectations.
The General Manager of Abhishek Motors Mr.A.K.Nath has assured his full cooperation for future collaboration and placement related activities. In the future, they will also require electricians and welders in their establishment.
