Federick Nongkhlaw

Federick Nongkhlaw, 19 years old boy of Pohkseh, Shillong was born to Mrs. Iris Nongkhlaw and Mr. Chester Mawrie. His mother works as a school cleaner and father as a day laborer with a minimal wages. Federick is the ninth in the family. Since continuing studies were proving to be hard-hitting, he joined the Book Binding training at DBTS, Shillong after class VIII.

Like all other newly pass out students, he too was finding it hard to find a suitable job. Along with his mother, Federick approached the placement coordinator and filed his resume` in the placement cell. No sooner he filed his resume there was a requirement for a Library at Sacred Heart College, Mawlai, a trained candiate to handle book repairing job at their library. He joined the job on 15 September 2008 with an initial pay of Rs. 1500/-. His dedication and hardwork convinced the management to increase his salary to Rs 2000/ per month.

Frederick is quick enough to acknowledge that the credit to DBTS and especially Bro. Colombi who trained him with different styles of Book Binding works which no other training institute would provide training adequately.
