INM Technical Education Heads cum Commission Meeting

INM Technical Education Board Meeting was held under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Gladstone sdb on 7th Oct 09 at Deepagam Hall. This meeting was held primarily for reviewing all the activities of DB Tech Project in the Province from April 2009 to Sept. 2009 (Half Yearly) and Planning for the next six months. It included a brief sharing on:

• DB Tech India National Core Committee Meeting held at Bangalore on the 3rd & 4th Oct 09

• DB Tech India Job Placement Coordinators’ Training conducted at Goa from 21st to 23rd Sept 2009

• Release of Funds

Fr. P. T. Joseph explained in detail about Tamil Nadu Minorities’ Economic Development Corporation (TAMCO) sponsored Programme and Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project (CIICP). Under CIICP scheme, SIGA is empowered to conduct a lot of Short Term Courses both in and outside SIGA which is entitled to give a certification of international recognition. At present, SIGA conducts such courses in Photography at DBICA and in electrical, welding and Motor Mechanic at Don Bosco, Polur.

Fr. Jeffrey, in his briefing about the DB Tech India National Core Committee Meeting, mentioned about the ‘MES Registration’ done at the National Level by DB Tech India and said that at the state level each individual institute can be registered under that Scheme independently. Moreover, he talked about the MoRD Project being sanctioned for the Northern region and stated that it would be extended to other regions soon. He also spoke about ‘creation of a new website’ for Job Placement at National Level (Don Bosco Skills Bank) and developing Centre of Excellence - One model Trade for each Institute.
