Seminar on Business/Employment Opportunities in Water and Energy for INM VTC Principals & Staff
On 7th October 2009, INM DB Tech organized a seminar on Business/ Employment Opportunities in Water and Energy for all VTC Principals and Staff with the collaboration of Promoters of Environmental Technologies and Energy Resources (PETERS), an NGO which promotes Integrated Water and Energy Management System. The Day’s Resource Persons included Mr. Rama Subramaniyan, Head (Training), EXCEL HR, Chennai, Mr. Ramesh Subramaniyan, Director KAYESSAR Project & Services, Chennai, Mr. Peter Rajan, Author, Principles of Water Treatment etc. Mr. Rama Subramaniyan motivated the participants towards the day’s programme. Role plays, group discussions and presentations made the sessions more interactive. The participants were progressive to widen their outlooks into the new fields of learning. Mr. Ramesh gave thrust on Integrated Rural Energy (Hybrid Power) through power point presentation.
Mr. Peter Rajan focused on the enormous opportunities in Water Industry for the Technical Institutes by way of setting up Laboratories, Service Centers to meet all domestic water purifiers, Assembling or Manufacturing units, offering certificate courses on water treatment techniques at various levels etc. Thiru. T. R. Ramesh Babu, Director, Tamil Nadu Agro Energy Developers (P) Ltd, Chennai, enlightened the participants on Non – conventional Energy such as Bio – Gas plant. He explained the ways of establishing Bio – Gas plants both in rural and urban areas and about the employment opportunities to the Rural Population and regarding the contribution to the development of Cleaner & Pollution free environment.
Thiru. Gangai Manimaran, Educationalist sensitized the participants with his own past experiences and life situations on water and non conventional energy in relation to present environment pollution. He concluded his speech by saying, “If at all 3rd World War comes, it will be for Safe Drinking Water”.
The Resource Team Members assured their willingness to support and promote models on solar and water systems, Bio Gas Plant at our Technical Institutes for the benefit of the rural and urban poor and to formulate or to develop short term courses on these aspects which will fetch employment opportunities for dropout youth of the area. A keen interest was shown by Don Bosco ‘SIARD’ Sagayathottam and Don Bosco Rural Industrial School, Gedilam to implement these programmes at their institutions. Total 30 members participated in the seminar.
