My name is William Bernard Raj. I was born to Mr. Augustine and Mrs. A. Vanathai in a village in Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India. My father and mother are daily wagers and I have one elder brother and one younger sister. With limited finance, I continued my regular studies in a Govt. school where I was an average student. When I was studying in the 10th std., I was completely paralyzed for an unknown reason; I could not walk and I could not even move anywhere. We consulted nearly 10 different doctors and went to almost all the hospital in Cuddalore. Nobody could actually diagnose my disease. Finally, one doctor told us that I have a major heart problem which was the main cause of my paralysis and thereafter, was on strict medication. As a result, I could not complete my studies.

I was in that state for nearly 4 years after which there was a miraculous improvement in my condition and was able to walk like a normal person. Later, I started working; firstly, in Bangalore, then Cuddalore, and finally in Chennai. The problem got cured slowly. The development in the body took place stage by stage. Then with the curiosity to study further, I came to DBRITE and decided to specialize in welding trade. During one year training period, I went through all the process and acquired all the skills necessary for a professional welder. Now I am very happy that there is a massive change in my life. “The foundation of a person actually takes place in the initial stage of education but I feel that now only my foundation is laid and strengthened” claims William.

When I was at home, I used to be very quiet especially during the 4 year period of my ailment, I suffered from self imposed isolation and my friends also avoided me because of my ailment. Changes took place only after I came and joined DBRITE. I started mingling with all the other trainees. Now I am very happy that my ailment is being set right and fully cured. I was glad that I was able to continue my studies. At present, I am working in Pondicherry in one of the leading companies earning 4,500 per month. Today, I am able to financially support my family and we have a collective control over the financial crisis that had befallen on us. “I can never forget DB RITE in my life because only in this institute I came to know what happiness is and I found that I have a good life ahead”. I extend my sincere thanks to the Director, Administrator and to all the faculty members and workers of DBRITE.
