Don Bosco Rural Integral Technical Education
I am Prakash and I come from a village called Chinnandi Kuzhi, Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, India. First of all, I would like to convey my sincere gratitude to the Director & DB RITE family because I never thought that I would ever come up and gain confidence in my life. I belong to a very poor family where my father could not educate us as he was just a daily wager. Everyday my father and mother had to go for labor work and due to this daily struggle, right from my childhood we had been facing a number of problems in the family. The hard earned income of our parent was barely sufficient to meet our basic needs. It was very hard for my father to look after the family. I have 4 more siblings in my family. Despite difficulty and frequent family problems, I completed my secondary level of education after which I was rather confused and indecisive as to what to do next due to the financial crisis of the family. Then, I came to know of Don Bosco ITI functioning in Anayampettai village through one of my relatives. I decided to join for a Diploma course in Computer trade in that institute.
The academic and extra curricular activities and formations given there were excellent and very useful for me. Moreover, the fee structure of the ITI was a motivating factor for me as it was not burdensome. Ever since I joined the ITI, I did not trouble my parents and they were very happy about my education and progress in life. Even after having acquired my certificate, I continued getting their motivation, guidance and support from them. I also started working in a small studio where I could sharpen all the skills and tactics I learned from the ITI. Later on, with the help of the Director, Don Bosco, I got job in a Studio and at present I’m earning four thousand rupees a month. Recently my second sister got married and I felt proud that I could contribute towards the expenses of the same. My contribution to the family may not be much but I am fully satisfied that I do not trouble my family and I am able to support my family. Once again I want to thank all the good souls of Don Bosco who have helped me claim a better position in my life.
