Satyajit Nag
Satyajit Nag, a commerce graduate, was undecided about his future. His father used to work with Shipping Corporation but, due to Parkinson's disease, he had to leave the work at an early age. His Elder brother and sister were studying and so, there were family responsibilities that needed attention. Satyajit could find no solution to his problems and was completely lost...
It was then that he came to know about Don Bosco and its various courses and decided to join the Carpentry trade of DBSERI (Don Bosco Self Employment and Research Institute), to make musical instruments. Counseled by a Social Worker and guided by Brother T.V. Mathew, the Director, he agreed to pursue Civil Engineering Technician course of 3 years with the hope of getting a good job. Br. Mathew, after learning about his family situation, arranged for Mennonite Scholarship for his studies. Other students helped him with their books and drawing equipments. Being a graduate, he started giving tuitions to children of his neighborhood. Later on, he was sent for an interview with Tuscon Engineering Ltd, a national level construction company where he now works as an Asst. Engineer. His main asset is his confidence, courage and will power together with the skills learnt at DBSERI.
