Orientation program for the new batch of trainees at Bosco Tech, Silchar

Guwahati: 21st September 2009: Skills Orientation cum motivation program was held for the newly enrolled trainees of Welders, Computer Hardware, Modern Office Management and DTP from 16th to 18th September 2009 at Bosco Tech, Silchar of Guwahati Province. 110 boys and girls participated in the program that was facilitated by the Province Resource Team members with able assistance from the management and teachers of the institute.

During the inaugural function, the Principal, Br. Reggie Joseph explained the DB Tech Network in the country and highlighted the importance of acquiring employable skill sets if they wanted to be successful in life. Trainees were provided with useful tips and information through games, role plays and icebreaking sessions. Topics such as Goal Setting, Motivation, Assertiveness, Effective Communication Skills, Listening Skills, Inter-personal skills, Leadership Qualities etc. were touched upon. Entrepreneurship awareness, along with availability of various govt. and non-govt. sponsored schemes, was showcased as alternate options for the trainees to choose from. Session on interest inventory and pre-training assessment conducted on the last day was found to be very useful and a yardstick to measure the progress of the trainees.
