ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AT DON BOSCO TECHNICAL INSTITUTE FATORDA

The Don Bosco Tech INP, Panjim – Konkan Province organized an Entrepreneurship Development Programme at its Technical institute, Fatorda on the 29th and 30th September 2009. 37 participants took part in this workshop. The resource team included Prof. Prashant, Mrs. Anita Carambelkar and Mr. A. Iyengar, a consultant for Entrepreneurship Development. The two day workshop focused on creating awareness in entrepreneurship among students of the Institute.

The workshop started with the basics of Entrepreneurship. The trainer, Mrs. Anita explained the qualities required by a good leader and an entrepreneur. She also explained the need for entrepreneurship in the changing job market scenario. Mr. Iyengar enlightened the students on Entrepreneurship oppornituties in Goa especially in the Tourism sector so that the students can think of setting their own enterprises.Prof. Prashant, in his session, explained the various steps in starting a business unit by preparing a project report for arrangement of finances and also obtaining licenses. He also went on to explain the various Government Schemes available to help the entrepreneur giving special emphasis on “Chief Ministers Rozgar Yojana” scheme.In the concluding session, Mr. Archangel Pinheiro enlightened the students by explaining the facilities available with DBTI, in rendering support to approach the agencies in order to fulfill their objectives. The program concluded with students expressing their gratitude for the enlightenment they received from the different sessions which had helped them to know more about the various options available for their career.
