Skill Orientation Programme at Don Bosco ‘SIARD’ Sagayathottam”

Don Bosco Tech India team along with Don Bosco Vazhikatti (INM) organized a one day Skill Orientation Programme on 29th August 2009 for the 1st year Agricultural students at Don Bosco ‘SIARD’ Sagayathottam. Rev.Fr. Lawrence Varaprasatham sdb, the Rector & Principal, in his welcome address, explained the concept of Don Bosco Tech India project and its networking strategy throughout the country.

Mr. Francis Xavier, the INM PRT, Mr. Richard, the Job Placement Coordinator of INM DB Tech project and Mr. Rajesh, the Career Guidance Coordinator of Vazhikatti facilitated the training programme. The training program was designed to increase the confidence level of the students to face the hazards in their journey to a dignified employment. To this end, the resource team conducted sessions on Self-Motivation, Interpersonal skills, Personality Development, Leadership, goal setting, problem solving, listening & study skills and peer pressure. During the programme, some of the students shared their experiences after going through the lessons on managing their personality and time and setting goals in life etc. It was overwhelming to see the confidence and joy in the students during the sessions and they expressed it through an active participation in the programme. The Principal and School Management were happy about the outcome of the programme. Rev. Fr. Lawrence Varaprasatham, sdb wished at the close of the programme that such a programme helped their students to excel in their studies and to become contributing citizens of the society.
