‘DON Bosco PLUS’ TRAINING at Mount Don Bosco Community College – kotgiri and Don Bosco ‘sagai’ – Bagalur (Chennai Province)

August 31, 2009: A Group of 30 Students each (Scheduled Tribe girls and boys) from Mount Don Bosco Community College and Don Bosco ‘SAGAI’ successfully completed the ‘Don Bosco Plus’ training in Computer Basics, English language and Communication Skills.

‘Don Bosco Plus’ course was organized and designed by the respective principals of the Institutions as a response to the specific needs of the youth of their centre. It was conducted for the duration of 3 months from June 2009 to August 2009. The learning of English, Computer Skills and Communication skills has better equipped them not only to enhance their level of knowledge and skills but also to boost their confidence and courage to face the life ahead.The course was fully participatory in nature with interactive sessions such as, games, role plays, group activities, songs, presentations etc. “Before I was very timid and not able to speak a single word in English; but now I am able to speak a few words” was the comment made by one of the participants, Mr.Murugan. According to Ms. Malarselvi, these kinds of programmes could be organized and conducted for other youth of the region as well.
