Training for Trainers workshop at Don Bosco Panjim Goa
The Don Bosco Tech INP, Panjim – Konkan Province organized a Training for Trainers workshop in Life Skills Programme at Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim Goa on 28th and 29th August 2009.
The program was inaugurated by the Director of the Konkan Development Fr. Jose Sequeira who highlighted the importance of the Life Skills workshop to enhance the training needs. The workshop was conducted by Fr. Issac Arackaparambil the Director of Amrut Dara, Dakor and was held for the staff of the Vocational and Technical Institutes of Don Bosco INP. There were a total of fifteen participants. The two day intensive program focused on the methodology of presenting Life skill program for youth to strengthen personal competencies, such as communication, self confidence, decision making, goal setting and healthy lifestyles. It emphasized on the role of the trainers and the use of the various teaching techniques and skills and strategies of using visual aids, group work and leading effective discussions. The participants were taken through sessions of preparing and presenting the modules given in the program prepared by the G.E. Foundation.The workshop highlighted the practicum session in which the participants displayed remarkable teamwork by presenting the Life Skills modules and the same were evaluated by the resource person Fr. Issac. At the concluding function the participants expressed their gratefulness at being given the opportunity to participate in the program and gain valuable insight for conducting the Life Skills. The participants also stated that they have acquired superior delivery skills, which they would put into practice.
