Social Awareness cum Career Guidance Programme

A day long programme on Social Awareness cum ‘Youth for Action’ was held on 18th July’09 in Paschim Kurua Shelter Home. The objective of the programme was to create awareness among parents and guardians about various career opportunities for the students, about the need for choosing right career at the right time, need to motivate youths to undergo various employable skill sets and encourage them to take up self-employment initiatives. More than 250 participants including school children, school drop outs, college students, parents, guardians and elders participated in the programme.

A prominent scholar, writer and publisher of “The Career Guide”- a local magazine, Mrs. Pritima Kaushik Baruah facilitated the programme along with Mr. Vikram Ekka, a well known youth activist and TV journalist. Miss Sitasree Kalita and Rajib Das from the DBTI Resource Centre spoke on the possibilities of skill training and placement with Don Bosco Tech India network.
