VTC Principals Meet in Chennai

Don Bosco Tech India - INM conducted a meeting for Vocational Training Centre Principals on 27th June 2009 at DBICA Hall, Citadel, Kilpauk, Chennai. The meeting started by invoking the Holy Spirit through prayer song by Rev.Fr.Martin Jones. Rev.Fr. Jeffrey Gladstone welcomed all participants and animated the session on Skill Training and Education of youth. He presented a few concepts and basic criteria for Salesian involvement in the technical and professional education and training of the young taken from the Discourse of the Rector Major presented during the World Consultation on Technical Education held at Rome from 5th to 7th June 2009. Rev.Fr.Mark, the Director of Surabi Development Office facilitated on Evaluation of Capacity Development within the partnership relations between Belgian NGOs and their Partners in the South. This is going to take place at our province level by next month. As they are going to use the new evaluation tool of “Most significant change” Technique Mr. Christy Anandan and Mr.Francis, the project coordinators enlightened the participants on this Technique and clarified the doubts raised by the participants. They requested all the partners of the programme to submit their report (success stories) on or before 4th July 2009.

After a Short Tea break, Mr.K.J.Francis Xavier, INM PRT presented the INM DB Tech Activities report of 2008 – 09 and the DB Tech Action Plan of 2009 – 10. The PRT meeting report of Bangalore was also presented and Mr.J.Richard the Job Placement Coordinator & Mr.Jerin Bosco the Asst. Job Placement Coordinator were introduced to the participants and explained their roles and responsibilities. Rev. Fr.Jeffrey, the Technical Education Commission Head appreciated and thanked all the participants for attending the meeting and making it a fruitful one.
