Initiated Youth survey on Livelihood and Employment

3rd September 2008, Dimapur: A Train the Trainer Programme for the national Youth Survey was organized on 29 – 30 August 2008 at Institute of Development and Leadership (IDL), the Resource and Training Centre of AIDA, Dimapur. The 16 participants were the Youth Leaders and Coordinators of Youth Activities from 14 Don Bosco Centres of Manipur, Nagaland and Assam.

Fr Tony Pellissery, the Director of AIDA deliberated on the Salesian Vision for Youth and the Don Bosco Tech Network initiative. Ms. Ruth Chawang, Coordinator PRT, led the input sessions on DB Tech Network, Opportunities for Linkages at regional and national level and the objectives of the survey. The trainees were taken through the data collection tool and codes in detail. Rapport building with respondents, Do’s and Don’ts of interviewing were bonus inputs from Bro Sunny Joseph, Assistant Director, AIDA. The participants conducted a trial run with sample respondents in the neighborhood of the training center at Dimapur.

The training ended with commitment by participants to train other youth in their locality to conduct the survey and supervise the process in their respective regions. Survey formats were handed out to all the participants as per the requirements of the centers.
