Bosco Pnar Training Institute
Bosco Pnar, is an educational institution of the Catholic Church, belonging to and managed by the Salesians of Don Bosco educational Society, registered under the societies Registration Act of Societies Act 7 of 1990 No.SR/ BP-206/91 of 1991. The training school is open to all students irrespective of religion or community, but has a preference for Catholic students.

Bosco Pnar had its humble beginnings in 1994 onwards with Rev. Fr. Turco Ugo sdb. He started in whatever way he could, with the help of friends from abroad and from the state govt. In 1998 few more trades were added. It is a multipurpose type of training. In 2004 computers were added to the training centre. In May 2006 more salesians join the institute to develop and expand as per the requirements for the training centre.

All the courses that are conducted in the institution is being regularised and organised as other Technical training institutes of Don Bosco in India.

To promote dignity of manual labour
To provide employment / self-employment
To promote execellence / creativity
To form honest citizens with good character

Admissions:
The application forms are available at the training office from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm from December. All documents are to be submitted as per notification.
The candidates must be between 16 to 28 years of age. All courses are open to boys and girls.

Seats available:
Driving 24, Typing 12 per batch, Computer 10 per batch, Tailoring 10, Motor Mechanic 10, Carpentry 10, House wiring 10, Welding 10. (The documents that are needed to submit along with the application forms are instructed in the form itself).

N.B: Candidates are selected through written test and interview. The institute reserves the right to refuse an application without giving reasons.

Attendance is compulsory. The trainees are to submit an application prior to taking leave. They should get the permission of the Director before rejoining the classes. Those habitually sick or are otherwise irregular may be asked to discontinue.
Other studies are not permitted during training period.

Rules of Conduct
The following are meant to promote the welfare of the trainees.

  • The timings of classes are from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
  • Trainees are to behave with decorum, show respect to the staff and authorities, and friendliness and goodmanners to all other trainees in the campus. Habitual neglect of work or failure to respond to official notices, smooking and the use of other intoxicating in any form, causing communal disharmony will invite severe punishment which may include dismissal.
  • Damage caused to equipment and property will have to be made good by the defaulter.
  • In all matters of discipline the Director’s decision will be final.
N.B. The management reserves the right to modify any of the rules and add new ones for the better running of the institute.

Qualification
Class VIII passed for Vocational Trades and Driving.
Computer & Typing training : X Passed and above

Functional Vocational Training ( Non-Formal).
These are conducted from the month of February. The trainees must buy books and tools prescribed by the institution.
  • 1 year Courses :- Motor Mechanic, Welding & Fabrication, G. Carpentry, Wireman.
    (Those trainees who are regular interested and show signs that they can do the ITI examinations can be done through Don Bosco Technical school Shilling).
  • 6 months courses in Driving.
  • 3 months courses in Basic Computer & Typing.


These courses will be conducted from time to time.
  • 3 months in driving
  • 6 months in computer
  • 6 months in Tailoring
  • 6 months in Automobiles
  • 6 months in Carpentry


Fee structure Vocational trades:(Non-formal)
   
The institution subsidizes Rs.150.00.
Admission fee Rs.100.00
Tuition fee (pm) Rs.150.00
Examination and test Rs.100.00
Establishment fees Rs. 200.00
Sports Rs.50.00
Books & Tools as prescribed by the department. ( In the application form).
The expenditure for a student of Vocational trades is Rs.300.00 per month.


Hostel fees
   
Mess fees (pm) Rs.600.00
Seat rent (pm) Rs.150.00
Sports and games Rs.200.00
N.B. If the trainee discontinues or asked to discontinue all fees paid will not be refunded.


Examinations
Final examinations will be held during the first week of December. The successful trainees will be certified by the institution that he/she has completed the course.
