INK Techs for "Quality Training"
Quality Vocational Education and Training:
The technical commission has this year taken for themselves the theme of "Quality Training” for their reflection and action. The theme was taken so that in line with the project of the National Network the individual institutions as well as all involved in it would move towards improved quality.
Youth Survey:
The commission has got itself ready for the youth survey on Education and Livelihood by training the staff from various institutions to take up the project. Mr. Cletus from Caritas Mumbai was the resource person for the two day training imparted to about 15 survey coordinators. In the two day progarmme conducted on 2nd and 3rd May at BREADS, they not only understood the process, but also had practical experience at collection of data as well as entering the data on the software for analysis. They feel confident to train local enumerators who would actually collect the data. The commission also has engaged the services of the department of social work from the Don Bosco college at Angadikadavu for the process in Kerala. The deputed team also underwent training and they are engaged in training the data enumerators in Kerala already from May 7th.
National Project:
The commission also studied and looked into the required tasks to implement the project of Don Bosco Tech India network in the province. The members from institutions in Karnataka met on 3rd May in BREADS office to discuss and understand the project. The team has resolved to take all required steps to implement the same. Those involved in the vocational education in Kerala state met on 6th May at Vaduthala for the same purpose.
All are eager to works towards improved quality, implementation of the new curriculum in the coming year, take up the Don Bosco Plus (Life Skills, Computer Skills and Language Skills) in all training centres etc. The group is happy to be part of the national network and looking ahead creating employment and livelihood possibilities for the youth.
