Meeting of Technical Sector in Tiruchy Province

Madurai, 30th April 2008 The principals and Rectors of all the Technical Schools in the Province came together for a day of meeting which was held on 30 April 2008 at Don Bosco ITC Madurai. There were 13 participants from the Province. Fr. Albert Johnson the Head of the Technical Commission welcomed the participants for the meeting. Fr. Amalraj Susai the Provincial briefed the gathering about the purpose of the meeting and delivered his presidential address. Fr. Antony Joseph the Provincial Economer was also present to give his views on the HR policy of the province.

In the first session there was discussion regarding the HR policies to be followed in the Technical Centres. Certain administrative decisions were taken regarding NCVT courses. After Lunch in the second session Fr. Arul Maran, The Executive Director of CAUVERI Development Office facilitated the meeting through his various presentations.

First he spoke regarding the Origin and the beginnings of D.B Tech India and the need for it. This session put all participants in perspective. He shared about the various initiatives and activities carried out by DBTI in the past years. Then he discussed the Project at length and explained about the commitment and responsibility of the respective Technical centres to carry forward the project. The participants discussed about Standardization and National level Certification.

Fr. Maran gave a presentation regarding the possibility of Networking with Mahindra’s and Dr. Reddy’s Foundation for livelihood initiatives and the need to tie up with companies to avail their CSR projects. He introduced Mr. V. Stephen the Province Coordinator for D.B Tech India and invited them to use his expertise and services. The roles and responsibilities of the project staff were also explained for assisting and coordinating with the technical centers towards the successful implementation of the project.
