Don Bosco Tech India National Commission Meeting
The National Commission of Don Bosco Tech India meeting was organised at Don Bosco, Kurla. All the representatives from the 10 regions of the country were present for the meeting. The meeting focussed on three main areas namely:
- Possibility of Certification of the youth in our training centres
- The required structure for the Network
- The project for the network for the years 2008 – 2010
The meeting began with a prayer led by Bro. Cyriac and each member introduced themselves for the benefit of all. The convenor Fr. Adolph then explained the proceedings of the day and it was agreed upon by the members.
Fr. Stephen Maveli, the person responsible for the Don Bosco University at Guwahati explained to the group about the university. The group discussed the possibility of certification for the youth in training. It is seen that there is possibility to realise this through the ‘distance mode’ education proposed by the university. The need for training for staff, the requirement of standardization of the training and assessment processes was talked about.
The group also shared ideas about the possible structure for the network at national level which will be presented to the National Convention in the month of May.
Mr. Jochim from dmos comide explained the Don Bosco Tech India project for all the members and also took the group though the monitoring and implementation requirements of the project.
The project will have a formal launch on April 06, 2008.
