Introduction
Introduction
DON BOSCO was a person fully alive and "madly" in love with the young. He was born in a very poor family of farmers. With unshakable faith - in God, in himself and in the innate goodness present in every human being - he rose above discouraging and adverse circumstances and situations. He wanted to share his conviction of the ever-present possibility of a better future with every youth of the world, especially the poorer and the less-privileged. Many of his contemporaries thought him to be a 'Mad Man' because his Ideas, Works and Methodology were far ahead of his times. To keep alive his Project for the Youth of the world, he gathered around him a dedicated group of people whom he called Salesians. Today, Salesians work in over 128 countries of the world equipping people, especially the Youth, with Skills, Strength of Character and Optimism, to cope with the Challenges and Opportunities thrown up by the modern world.
