Soft Skill Training at St. Joseph Technical Institute (Chennai)

DB Tech organized a day long ‘soft skill training’ for the final year students of St. Joseph Technical Institute, Basin Bridge (Chennai) on Aug 26, 2010. 75 students participated in the training programme. In the welcome address, Rev. Bro. Kolandai Yesu (Principal) explained that soft skill training program is being organized on behalf of DB Tech India; and it has been tailored for the students to enhance their employability. In this program, the students were made aware of the common mistakes done in preparing their profiles and interview techniques. Special focus was on the guidelines successfully facing the Job Interviews.

Sessions covered in the training program include self-motivation, interpersonal skills, personality development, leadership, goal setting, problem solving, interview skills and peer pressure. During the programme, some of the students shared their experiences after going through the lessons on managing their personality, time, setting goals etc. It was overwhelming to see the confidence and joy in the students during the sessions and they expressed it through an active participation in the programme. Students while thanking the PRTs wished their regular classes should be as interactive and interesting like the training on Soft skills. They have proposed such training to be carried out for their juniors as well.
